The Ypres Tower seen from Gun Gardens. The Tower dates from the late 14th Century, during the reigns of Edward III and Richard II, as part of the Town wall defences against the dastardly French. During its life it has been a prison, Soup Kitchen and a Mortuary, it is now a museum.
